Week Four

"UP" was the challenge prompt for the 4th week of my 52 week project.  We had a lousy Friday, which included a fire evacuation at work due to a transformer fire in one of the parking garages, the sun and the stopping of snow at the end of day was too beautiful to pass up.

Playing with my 10-22mm lens, I even left the sunspots in as they are what I saw.  I truly was finally calm and beautiful at that moment.  And so worth NOT leaving work early as the roads and traffic were very light on my way home.

Mine was the twilight and the morning.  Mine was a world of rooftops and love songs.

Treasure Hunt (Round 3)

Well friends, this round had to include the following elements:

A person
A hat
At building
A retro look
A romantic feel

I knew where I wanted to go with this and I had the props and the models!  A special Thank You to Matt and Mechell for being my models!  You both did a fantastic job and moved me to Round 4!!

The building we work in is soooo retro and made the perfect backdrop.  I submitted the photo on the left because our editing was limited on this round, but I really liked the one on the right from a personal point of view!

Wait till you see Round 4!

Don't choose the most beautiful one.  Choose the one that makes your world the most beautiful....

Week Three

Week Three in the #WeeklyPhotoProject2013 is the rule of thirds.  I knew exactly what I wanted to shoot for this one and after Dan's baseball game it was another roadside stop on Mayview Rd.  I love the train tracks and the area around them.  It's always great when a plan comes together.

Even if you are on the right track,
you will get run over if you just sit there.

Treasure Hunt (Round 2)

The 2nd round of the Photo Treasure Hunt involved the following:

A person
A scarf
Sunglasses
Creative use of the color red and
A James Bond Feel

Talk about getting the creative juices flowing!  I submitted the photo of my version of "Solitaire" who is my favorite Bond Girl from my favorite movie, Live and Let Die.  It was not an easy choice though. The photo of Bond, waiting for his girl was a tough one to pass on.  But fear not, "Jon" Bond will be back in another photo shoot, I am sure of it....

Week Two

The week two challenge was Winter/Summer depending on which part of the world you find yourself in.  Since we have snow on the ground, that was my first thought but one of the things I love about this time of year is the dramatic sunrises and sunsets.  This was taken in the early morning on 1/8/13 as the sun was just coming up in my back yard.  Beauty is truly everywhere.

Welcome Winter, your late dawns and chilled breath make me lazy, but I love you nonetheless.

Treasure Hunt

I am participating in a photo Treasure Hunt on G+ for the month of January.  Our first entry had to include a person, a tree and a coffee cup.  Interesting choices to say the least!

Thanks to our wonderful friends, the Dedigs, Daniel and I took this shot.  The Pit Crew coming out to not only fuel the car, but also the driver.  Iced coffee to get him through the final laps of the Green Tree 500!  I do believe I am moving on to round two!

Week One - The New Year

I was going to to be good today and clean up Christmas but I decided to be lazy and enjoy my last day off.  The kids were going snow tubing at the park and after taking some fun shots of them for next year's calendar, I walked around our general area to see what I could find.

My new photo project for 2013 is a weekly one with themes.  It's being curated on Google+ and this is my entry for the Week One theme.  I had forgotten that my neighbors had this sleigh.  I was thrilled to find it filled with decorations along with the addition of the gold reindeer.
